LAPNers give talk in Bandon on waste prevention for SMEs

LAPN featured at a recent free breakfast meeting for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) focusing on assisting businesses, especially those in the food sector, to reduce some of their running costs took place recently at the Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon.

Organised by Cork County Council’s  Environmental Awareness Unit department, there was information about how best a business could conserve water, save energy and prevent waste with very little investment.

Dr Colum Gibson of Clean Technology Centre, Cork Institute of Technology and Nial O’Connor,  Monaghan County Council’s scientist and author of the guidebook ‘Calling Time on Waste’ were the keynote speakers.

It was the sixth in a series of talks in the county sponsored by the Local Authority Prevention Network programme funded by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
