A case study on designing out waste in construction

A case study is now available here on a recent LAPN project that Limerick City and County Council has developed and implemented. This involved a series of workshops on designing out waste & sustainable procurement in the construction sector. This training was for staff in the Local Authority development sector, such as architects, technicians, quantity surveyors, project managers, engineers, planners, and procurement staff, in the principles of designing out waste and ensuring sustainable procurement practices. The project was led by Limerick and was carried out in conjunction with Clare, Mayo and Dublin City Councils.

A series of resources are available from the project here, and includes checklists that were subsequently developed for clients, contractors, quantity surveyors, designers, and product manufacturers.
