Energy Efficiency

With most of our energy still coming from fossil fuels, the ways in which we travel, heat our buildings and use electricity have a big impact on our climate.

In Ireland, the majority of our energy use is for transport (42%), heat (37%) and electricity (21%). While the proportion of renewable energy is growing, in 2017 90% of total energy used in the country was still from fossil fuels (SEAI, 2018).

Our energy choices at home and at work have staggering effects on the country’s emissions.

LAPN works with small businesses and householders to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency. From small changes to switching off lights and monitors to big changes like upgrading heating systems or vehicles, there’s something that everyone can do to reduce energy use.
