Working with CRNI members, Laois County Council along with the Laois Federation of Tidy Towns hosted two Reuse/Upcycling events during Reuse Month (October 2016) focusing on creative reuse to a family audience.
Abbeyleix Tidy Towns hosted one of the workshops while Mountmellick Tidy Towns hosted the second one.
Both groups are very proactive in the community and are seen as great advocates in all aspects of environmental protection and biological conservation. Both events were very well attended and enjoyed by everyone. It is hoped that reuse and upcycling will be taken on board by Tidy Towns in future years are part of their activities in the award.
