In cooperation with Castleblayney Tidy Towns and Blayney Blades a talk on Household Hazardous Waste by Pauline McDonagh of the Southern Waste Management Region Office and Mary Stack of Cork County Council was facilitated.
At the talk the 22 people from the Castleblayney area present found out all about using fewer chemicals in their home and garden.
Pauline and Mary outlined several potential methods to reduce chemicals and prevent hazardous waste at home, by using environmentally friendly alternatives such as salt, baking soda, olive oil and vinegar. These were shown on a room by room basis and great tips for the garden were also shown.
The LAPN booklet Greener Cleaning was distributed to those present.
