The Gort Road Shopping Centre, close to Ennis General Hospital, comprises a large Centra store, petrol forecourt, McDonalds Restaurant & a pharmacy.
The traders have come together with support from Clare County Council and Southern Region Waste Management Office to develop an environmental action plan for the centre.
Energy, waste & water audits have been carried out and an improvement plan is now underway.
Energy & Environment personnel in Clare County Council are assisting the traders with developing benchmarks and an environmental charter.
