Carlow County Council, one of 12 Champions for the Sustainable Development Goals

Carlow County Council has been selected as one of 12 Champions in Ireland for the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The Council recently teamed up with the Union of Students in Ireland (USI) to help promote the SDGs at Carlow Institute of Technology, along with the Students’ Union. The event promoted the SDGchallenge to raise awareness, increase knowledge, and take action for sustainable development.

In September 2015, world leaders from 193 countries came together to adopt the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs have become the document to guide our social, economic and environmental actions to achieve a sustainable future by 2030. As a result, everyone has a responsibility in making the SDG agenda a reality.
