Galway City Council
Galway City Council is an LAPN Partipant and has worked with events, businesses, communities/homes and on food waste prevention in the city.
Galway Arts Festival is Ireland’s largest annual arts festival, taking place each July, and this has been greened by Galway County Council. More information here.
There was a week-long festival in Galway in 2012 to celebrate the final leg of the Volvo Ocean Race coming to the city. A Green Tent was operated by Galway County and City Councils as part of the Global Village, which had 142,000 visits across the seven days of the event. More information here.
In April 2013 Galway City Council distributed leaflets for restaurants on waste management. Reflecting the multilingual nature of the city, these were developed in English, Mandarin and Urdu. Click here to view.
