Rainwater is abundant in most of Ireland, and with increased water charges has come a large interest in harvesting it for use in domestic and commercial locations. Why not think about rainwater harvesting in your community.
Collecting rainwater is a cheap and easy option for non-potable usage (e.g. watering flowers, washing of yards, first wash of some machinery, garden and landscape irrigation, car washing, etc.). In this case it can be cheap to set up and as easy as having a number of barrels connected to downpipes for basic functions.
Collect rainwater and use it in your Tidy Towns activities. Consider possibly collecting from public buildings.
