The LAPN Resource Efficiency Toolkit was developed as a guide for local authorities and other organisations to implement waste prevention programmes.
It aims to utilise many of the previously developed tools and supports produced in LAPN projects and to give useful tips, links and other helpful hints at all the stages of the process.
It provides a step-by-step approach to resource efficiency and gives tips and links to the materials in the LAPN Project Catalogue along the way.
The ToolKit focuses on three main areas, based on real-life experiences of previous programmes – resource efficiency in:
- Homes & Communities
- Events & Festivals
It covers the four main issues of concern in most programmes: Waste, Food, Energy and Water.
The toolkit also provides a generic method to resource efficiency using a 9 Step Approach – this can be applied in almost any programme.
