Business Support

Local authorities in LAPN are working with companies, especially SMEs, to reduce environmental impacts.

Here are just some examples:

Carlow County Council and Kilkenny County Council have worked with Monaghan County Council to provide training to pubs in their regions. This follows on the very successful booklet produced by Monaghan: Calling Time on Waste, to help publicans and restaurants reduce costs and prevent waste.

Cork County Council has implemented a business based initiative (modelled loosely on the Macroom-e project) to be undertaken in South-East Cork. This will be carried out in partnership with the South East Cork Area Development Agency (SECAD). The initial focus was on food waste.

Galway County Council and Galway City Council have developed¬† a business based initiative to be undertaken in conjunction with Tuam Chamber of Commerce in Tuam. In Galway there has been a very high level of interaction between the local authorities’ LAPN team and local business.
