Monaghan County Council is supporting Tidy Town Committees in the region in the Sustainable Waste Resource Management category in 2016/2017.
Monaghan County Council made a call for applications from Tidy towns groups for waste prevention funding. Eligible projects included :
- awareness workshops such as furniture restoration,
- purchase of reusable bottles for local sports clubs,
- water harvesting systems,
- small scale energy efficiency projects within community sector and
- waste prevention awareness community competitions
Monaghan County Council would is supporting 7 Tidy Towns groups in this regard, which will have a major effect of capacity building in the region as well as ensuring that several good projects be undertaken.
