Cork County Council
Cork County Council has carried out several initiatives as part of its work in the LAPN and has fully participated in the network.
One was a business-based initiative (modelled loosely on the eMacroom-project) undertaken in South-East Cork in partnership with the South East Cork Area Development Agency (SECAD). The initial focus was on food waste. Click here to see a poster with more information.
Other work, in relation to the greening of events and locations in County Cork involved working with Midleton Food Festival, Fota Island Wildlife Park, as well as Sherkin Island and Baltimore marinas. Click here to learn more.
Several audits have been carried out and improvement reports have been produced by Cork County Council on local authority buildings and libraries in the county. Click here for more information.
In 2012 Cork County Council facilitated training events on food waste prevention and the food waste regulations for businesses. Click here for more information.
